Tchaikovsky's
1812 Overture
This is the album that put Telarc Records on the Audiophile map. It's
a complete digital recording from stage to disc. For the first 12:30 of
the overture, you wonder where the studio engineers were during the recording
sessions. The sound is quiet, until you hear the cannon blasts. From the
initial crack of the fuse lighting, to the blast of the shot leaving the
cannon, this will test your systems dynamic range. For a neat show, turn
it all the way up, open the trunk, and watch your subwoofers try to jump
out of the basket.
