Gene Sherman Gene S. Sherman, 86, of Cortland, died January 6, 2012. Born April 5, 1925, in Cortland to John W. and Marie M. (Busch) Sherman. Gene worked at Cushman Motors for 33 years before retiring. Family members include: daughter, Jeanne Young and significant other, Roger Coburn; one granddaughter; brother & sister-in-law, Merrill (Alice) Liebig. Preceded in death by wife, Virginia; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A funeral service was held January 10, 2012, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials to Multiple Sclerosis Association or American Cancer Society.
