Shirley Martin

Shirley Maxine Martin, 81, Palmyra, died January 24. Born July 14, 1930 to Edwin and Martha (Duling) Day in Kensington, Kansas. Married Raymond Martin, September 18, 1950. Lifetime partnership in farming and operating dairy and Angus cattle operation outside Palmyra. Owner, with husband, of Sprague tavern, worked at Woolco, Ameritas, Shopko, sold Fuller Brush products. Enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, visiting with family and friends.

Family members include: daughters and sons-in-law: Rheeta and Randy Baker and Dean and Rhonda DeButts; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Fran Dillon,Yorba Linda, California, sister-in-law, Adeline Day,Osborn; special family members, Steve and Glenda Ostrander, Aaron, Katy, and Jill; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by: husband, Raymond, son, Randy, and infant son, Ricky Dean; siblings: Leola Dallman, Cleo Dixon, Dale Day, Bill Lingo, Evelyn Gibson, and Edna West.

Funeral services were held January 28 at Fusselman-Allen Harvey Funeral Chapel in Syracuse. Burial in Rosewood Cemetery, Palmyra. Memorials to family’s choice.
