Alan Eveland

Alan Eveland, 58, Lincoln, died January 16. Born December 6, 1953, to Paul and Kathryn (Huston) Eveland in Lincoln. Lived in Elmwood, North Bend. Active in 4-H, FFA, Junior Angus. Graduate, University of Nebraska - Lincoln, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, president Inter-Fraternity Council, Innocents Society, Outstanding Greek on Campus. Kicker on football team, All Big-Eight. Worked in banking and municipal bond underwriting. Joined Ameritas, Vice President. Assistant Chair of Republican state committee, Task Forces for Lancaster County and Lincoln Public Schools. Coached Little League. Member of Masons and Shrine, North Bend Presbyterian Church.

Family members: father, Paul and wife, Donna Eveland, Ames; brothers Bruce and Scott Eveland, Ames; sister, Kristin (Mike) Caradine, Wichita, Kansas, nieces and nephews; step-brothers, J.D. Dixon (Freda), Laramie, Wyoming; Scott Dixon, Orleans; step-sisters, Jan (Dave) Cagle, Nashville, Tennessee; JoDee (Evan) DeVries, Atlanta, Georgia. Preceded in death by mother, Kathryn Eveland.

A memorial service was held January 20, at Roper and Sons Chapel in Lincoln. Memorials to United Way and Kay Eveland Memorial Endowment Fund (A Continuing Education Fund for teachers at North Bend Central, Al’s Alma Mater.)
