More abuse charges alleged against Hickman man

A Hickman man, already lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on abuse charges, has had additional abuse charges filed against him.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s office, Justin Adams, of Hickman, was arrested and taken to jail on January 7, 2012, for strangulation/third degree domestic assault.

During a follow-up interview with deputies on January 9, Adams’ wife, Colleen, told deputies that there were two other alleged incidents of abuse by Adams against Colleen and her 11-year-old daughter.

Colleen told deputies that sometime in November, she and her daughter were sitting on the couch watching TV when Justin allegedly walked in, kicked the daughter hard in the stomach, then said, "How do you like getting kicked in the stomach?" When questioned, Justin denied he kicked the daughter in the stomach. He was cited for alleged child abuse.

In the second incident, Colleen told deputies that in November of 2011, she was allegedly defending her daughter who had just been assaulted by Justin. She said Justin then allegedly grabbed her, threw her to the ground, pinned her and used his knee to hit her in the nose. When questioned, Justin allegedly admitted to striking Colleen in the nose, but claimed it was in self-defense because she was attacking him. He was cited for alleged domestic assault.
