Gerry Baksys/Voice news VOICE NEWS wins awards at Nebraska Press Convention The annual Nebraska Press Convention was held this past weekend with several VOICE staff members attending writing and advertising workshops. The Voice News staff was also informed of a first place award in the Weekly Class D division for an in-depth writing category: Voice News reporters Gerry Baksys and Trevor Stewart won for their indepth series on the justice system. They wrote about the justice system from several perspectives, offenders, judges, lawyers and law enforcement. Congratulations to Gerry Baksys who has been with the VOICE for the past five years. Trevor Stewart left last year to accept a position with NewsLink.
