As Susan’s due date got closer and closer, I began to get pretty nervious. Actually, it was more of an anxious feeling. All of these questions with nothing to do but wait for the answers. Quickly wrote this the day before Susan’s went into labor (2 day before Jake was born). Sue thought it was kind of neat that she went into labor  the day after I emailed this to her, considering one of the lines of the poem.

We Await the Arrival

apprehensive

eager

anxious

nervous

time is my torture

when will it come

when will we meet for the first time

waiting my whole life

for this opportunity of a life time

do it better

give it more

make life happier

our perfect little beginning

a future not determined

how will it read

this story with an unwritten ending

we'll make it happen

we'll do it together

tomorrow brings another day

literally the first day of a new life

the first day of our new lives

exciting

happy

joy

love
